HPU men fend off Chaminade
Justin Long poured in a game-high 23 points and the senior guard helped lead HPU to a 78-72 PacWest men’s basketball victory over Chaminade at McCabe Gym Wednesday evening.
The Sharks improved to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in conference action. They also got 19 points from Darry Jones Jr. and a game-high 10 rebounds from Luke Hager.
The Silverswords (4-5, 1-2) got 18 points apiece from Kuany Kuany and Lee Bailey. They will face Hawaii on Friday at the Neal Blaisdell Arena. Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m.
Sharks remain undefeated in PacWest
Hawaii Pacific’s Chenise Peone scored a game-high 19 points in a 92-47 rout of Chaminade in PacWest women’s basketball at McCabe Gym on Wednesday.
Morganne Comstock added 16 points and 15 rebounds for the Sharks (8-1, 4-0 PacWest). Katie Buskey led Chaminade (0-7, 0-3) with 14 points.
