Thieves try to take ATM from Maui mall
Maui police are investigating the attempted theft of a Maui mall automated teller machine.
At about 7 a.m., Saturday, two unknown suspects drove into the mall and pulled an ATM out from its anchors in the ground. Police said the suspects attempted to load the machine in their vehicle but were unsuccessful and fled.
Damage to the ATM is estimated at $20,000.
