Comstock and Johnson win weekly honors

Hawaii Pacific’s Morganne Comstock has been named Pacific West Conference women’s basketball player of the week and Hawaii Hilo’s Tre Johnson shared the men’s honor.

Comstock, a senior from Seattle, totaled 44 points and 29 rebounds in a win over Chaminade and a loss to Alaska Anchorage.

Johnson, a junior from Reno, Nev., scored a season-high 28 points in the Vulcans’ 82-79 victory over No. 15 Brigham Young-Hawaii.

Johnson shared the award with Azusa Pacific’s Troy Leaf.

The Sharks’ Breanna Mackenzie, a freshman from Melbourne, was named women’s freshman of the week after totaling 28 points.
