It’s been golf nearly every day for President Barack Obama this holiday vacation — save for at least one, when rain forced an indoor outing at the bowling alley.
The national press corps that accompanies the president has religiously shared updates on his comings and goings in shared media reports since his arrival on Oahu on Dec. 19. Most, however, chronicle a pretty familiar routine — the gym, the beach, the golf course.
"President Obama ended 2014 as he began it — with a round of golf," said one of Wednesday’s dispatches from Mike Memoli of the Los Angeles Times/Tribune Washington Bureau. He followed with the tidbit: "His round of golf today brought his golf totals to 54 this year and 214 since taking office, of which 36 were played during his Hawaii vacations."
By 6:15 on New Year’s Eve, Obama had returned from the Kaneohe Clipper golf course at Marine Corps Base Hawaii to the Kailua neighborhood that he and the first family have occupied over the past 13 days.
Obama has spent every Christmas holiday with his family on Oahu since becoming president.
