'MELE MEI' STARTS EARLY
The Ai Kamauu ohana — Tai Ai, left, Natalie Ai Kamauu, Sha-Lei Kamauu and Iolani Kamauu — presented traditional Hawaiian music and hula while wearing contemporary black and red attire at the Hawai‘i Academy of Recording Arts’ “Mele Mei 2015 Holiday Preview Concert” Dec. 28 at the Kahala Hotel & Resort. Ai played bass for his Na Hoku Hanohano Award-winning sister and brother-in-law. Sha-Lei danced several eye-catching hula. “Mele Mei” events will continue through the 38th Annual Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in May.
