FBI traces child pornography to Pearl Harbor home
A former Navy sailor was sentenced to 15 years in prison Monday after the FBI traced child pornography to his Pearl Harbor home.
U.S. District Judge J. Michael Seabright sentenced Dedrick Moore to the mandatory minimum term, followed by lifetime court supervision.
From child pornography images found on a computer in the United Kingdom, the FBI says it was able to determine that at least one of the images was recorded in Pearl Harbor family quarters at about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 14, 2012, using an Apple iPhone 4 smartphone.
The FBI determined from Navy housing records that Moore was assigned to the specific unit where the images were recorded.
Moore, 30, pleaded guilty in August in federal court to child sexual exploitation.
Moore was in the Navy and assigned to Pearl Harbor in January 2012. By the time the FBI caught up with him, the Navy had discharged him after six years of service, and he was living in Texas.
