Hawaii tops Ohio State in volleyball

Junior Siki Zarkovic put down a match-high 20 kills and senior Brook Sedore added 12 as No. 10 Hawaii turned back No. 14 Ohio State 25-19, 25-22, 17-25, 25-23 in Thursday’s second match of the 21st Outrigger Resorts Invitational at the Stan Sheriff Center.

Junior libero Kolby Kanetake added a match-high 11 digs for the Rainbow Warriors (2-0, 1-0 ORI) against the Buckeyes (3-1, 0-1). 

In Thursday’s opener No. 8 UC Irvine held off No. 3 Penn State, 25-17, 25-18, 18-25, 22-25, 15-7. The Anteaters improved to 1-1 and 1-0, while the Nittany Lions dropped to 0-1 and 0-1.
