Former UH coach Wallace hospitalized after stroke

Former University of Hawaii basketball coach Riley Wallace is hospitalized in Las Vegas after suffering a stroke on Monday night, according to a family friend. 

Wallace, 73, was at his Las Vegas home when he suffered the stroke-like symptoms. 

This stroke is considered to be more "severe" than the one he suffered on Maui the past Nov. 21, the friend said. 

Wallace was the Rainbow Warriors’ head coach for 20 years through the 2006-2007 season, when he retired. He is a consultant and special events host for Boyd Gaming, He also is the chairman of the selection committee for the Collegeinsider.com Postseason Tournament.
