Arrests made after knifepoint robbery near state Capitol
Two people were arrested Wednesday after a man was robbed at knifepoint near the state Capitol.
Sheriff deputies and Honolulu police made the arrests and have turned the case over to the Attorney General’s office for further investigation.
According to the Department of Pubic Safety, at about 3:30 p.m. a deputy on the fourth floor of the State Capitol heard a commotion on the ground level and notified other deputies who responded to the Hotel Street Mall area.
The victim reported that he was robbed at knifepoint by two men.
Honolulu police were notified and began searching the area along with deputies.
Deputies located one of the suspects, a 23 year-old man; and police located the other suspect, a 45 year-old man.
