Among the items available at Muumuu Heaven are T-shirts saying “Global Warming is so hot right now,” based on a customer comment made to shop owner Deb Mascia. At right is recycled glassware that has been turned in to soy candles. In previous years customers have been able to get their purchases refilled at the shop.

Muumuu Heaven owner Deb Mascia had a dream about entering the “pearly gates” into Muumuu Heaven, hence the pearlescent, beaded store entrance at 767 Kailua Road, in Kailua. The store will close at the end of February.

Customers often stop in to Muumuu Heaven to not just shop, but rest in the comfortable seating provided. The store sells clothing, personal and home accessories and other merchandise up-cycled from old muumuus and aloha shirts, as well as other recycled fabrics and materials. Customers are offered complimentary water or iced tea.
