‘Swords split softball doubleheader
The Chaminade softball team split a doubleheader Saturday against Western Washington, winning the opener 7-2, but dropping the second game 3-0 at Central Oahu Regional Park.
After trailing 2-0 in Game 1, the Silverswords (1-3) fashioned six runs in the fifth and sixth innings. Jenn Betian went 3-for-4 with three RBIs, including a two-run homer in the sixth. Aja Keyes was 4-for-4 at the plate and Brett Aspel went the distance to earn her first win of the season.
In Game 2, Shayna Adelstein limited Chaminade to one base hit in the Vikings’ win.
Author, professor to speak at QB Club
Bob Sigall, author and marketing professor at Hawaii Pacific University, will be the guest speaker at Monday’s meeting of the Honolulu Quarterback Club at the Maple Garden Restaurant.
Sigall, the author of "The Companies We Keep," will share some of his stories about Hawaii people, places and companies, and show pictures covering business and sports history. Lunch is at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon. The cost is $15 per person for members and guests, which includes tax and gratuities. The public is invited.
