Firefighters put out Whitmore Village fire that displaces 3
Honolulu fire officials were investigating the cause of a fire that destroyed a house in Whitmore Village.
Firefighters said the house was fully engulfed in flames when they arrived at 5:36 p.m. Friday, about seven minutes after receiving the alarm.
Fire spokesman Capt. Kevin Mokulehua said there were no injuries in the fire at 1147 Hoihoi Ave. but the fire displaced three people including a man, a woman and a 7-year-old boy.
The Red Cross has been called to assist the displaced residents.
Mokulehua said officials were still determining damage estimates.
