Shaun Apiki scored 23 points and the Damien Monarchs earned the ILH’s second slot in the HHSAA Boys Division II Tournament with a 69-52 victory over the Hanalani Royals in a single-elimination play-in game Saturday at Damien.
Kapi King added 16 points and Kobe Ikari had 14 for Damien, which will be in the state bracket along with ILH D-II champion Hawaii Baptist Academy.
Zane Pantil led Hanalani with 16 points and Chas Kubo finished with 15.
