100K-gallon sewage spill reported in Kahului
An electrical outage at the Kaa Pump Station in Kahului resulted in approximately 100,000 gallons of waste water overflowing onto Amala Road on Friday.
The spill reached a restricted-access area on Alahoa Road but did not enter any waterways, according to the Department of Environmental Management.
Standing water was removed and the affected area disinfected.
The state Department of Health was notified.
