Honpa Hongwanji Mission of Hawaii is co-sponsoring an event titled "Dialogue on Death Penalty: Legal, Ethical and Buddhist Perspectives," 8:30 a.m. to noon March 21 at the Buddhist Study Center, 1436 University Ave.
The public is invited to the free discussion, co-sponsored by the Honolulu Hongwanji Council.
Speakers include:
» Williamson B.C. Chang, a law professor at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
» Joel A. Lebel, a lecturer/instructor in the Philosophy Department at UH-Manoa.
» Pat Masters, a Buddhist nun and associate director of UH-Manoa’s campus diversity programs. Masters is also past president of the Hawaii Association of International Buddhists.
