Robbers attack owners of Palolo store
Police have released a video and are seeking the public’s help in locating two men wanted in the Friday morning robbery of a Palolo mom-and-pop grocery store in which the owners were injured.
Police said that at about 7:35 a.m. two males brandish-ing weapons entered the Valley Market at 2402 10th Ave. They assaulted the male owner with a weapon and physically assaulted the female. Both suspects fled in a light-colored SUV.
The owners were taken to the hospital for treatment.
A 64-year-old man was seriously injured, and a 49-year-old woman had minor injuries.
CrimeStoppers and the Honolulu Police Department have asked for the public’s help in locating the two males, releasing a video of the suspects.
Woman’s death is deemed a drowning
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said Friday a woman who died Monday night after being pulled from waters off the Outrigger Canoe Club in Waikiki died of accidental drowning.
Herma Amalia, 29, a resident of Pullman, Wash., was found in extremely critical condition at about 6:40 p.m. Monday. Paramedics took her to a hospital where she died at about 8 p.m.
Toddler is OK after falling from moped
A 2-year-old boy was released from the hospital Thursday after falling from a moped in Ewa Beach.
The father of the toddler said he had just returned from the grocery store at 3:25 p.m. and was sitting on his moped in his yard when his son jumped on the moped to join him.
The moped lunged forward and the toddler fell.
The father said that as precaution, an ambulance was called to his home on Kilaha Street, and the toddler was taken to the emergency room for a check.
The toddler suffered a small scratch to his head and was released.
