Alleged L.A. serial killer charged with more attacks
LOS ANGELES » A man charged with killing four people during a Los Angeles shooting rampage has pleaded not guilty to more attacks, including one that killed a freeway driver last year.
Alexander Hernandez of Sylmar entered pleas on Thursday to murder and attempted murder.
Prosecutors call him a serial killer who spread fear throughout the San Fernando Valley by randomly shooting people. He already pleaded not guilty to killing four people with a shotgun during an August rampage.
A new count alleges that Hernandez killed Sergio Sanchez last March as the motorist drove home on Interstate 210 in Sylmar.
He’s also charged with wounding people in three other attacks last year. They include a teenager who was shot and paralyzed as he drove his girlfriend home from their high school prom.
