Honolulu one of healthiest cities
Five factors figured into finding Honolulu the eighth-healthiest city in the U.S., according to Livability.com.
The healthiest city in the U.S., according to the website’s analysts, was Minneapolis, followed by Cambridge, Mass.; Madison, Wis.; Miami; and Bridgeport, Conn.
Also ahead of Honolulu are sixth-ranked Arlington, Va., and Santa Ana, Calif.
Fort Collins, Colo., ranked ninth, and Yonkers, N.Y., rounded out the top 10.
Analysts for the website reviewed aspects they view as crucial to livability, including "walkability," cultural amenities, transportation, urban planning and sustainability.
Hawaiian Air traffic up in March
Hawaiian Airlines’ passenger traffic rose 7 percent in March from the year-earlier period as it filled more of its seats.
The state’s largest carrier said Monday it transported 887,346 compared with 829,584 in March 2014. Hawaiian’s load factor, or the percentage of seats filled, rose 2.7 percentage points to 81.2 percent from 78.5 percent.
Revenue passenger miles, or one paying passenger transported one mile, increased 7.9 percent to 1.17 million from 1.09 million, while available seat miles, or one seat transported one mile, rose 4.3 percent to 1.44 million from 1.38 million.

State Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Director Catherine P. Awakuni Colon has named Ji Sook "Lisa" Kim the state’s new cable television administrator. She has been serving as acting cable television division administrator since January and has been with the CATV Division since January 2014. Kim was previously a commission counsel for the Hawaii Public Utilities Commission for 14 years.
SSFM International, an engineering, planning and management firm, has announced that Clifford P. Lum has been hired as a senior manager. He was previously with the URS Corp. and the Honolulu Board of Water Supply, and was founding partner and president of the Limtiaco Consulting Group.
Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has announced that Maureen Severson of the Windward office has earned the previews property specialist designation. She has more than 20 years of residential real estate experience and specializes in the Windward Coast. Severson joined Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties in 1995 and was previously a previews team member.
