Hilo man arrested returning items purchased with stolen card
A Hilo man faces several criminal charges after allegedly trying to return items he bought with a stolen credit card.
Chad Wright, 25, tried to return $900 worth of items on Monday, Hawaii island police alleged.
He was arrested and was being held at the Hilo police cell block, in lieu of $19,000 in bail, police said Thursday.
Police said Wright has been charged with two counts each of fraud, identification theft, forgery, and second-degree theft.
Police said a purse belonging to a 26-year-old Hilo woman was stolen from a vehicle parked in downtown Hilo on April 1 and her credit card was used twice the next day.
