Bus driver to be extradited to Las Vegas for alleged sex crimes
A 42-year-old city bus driver will be extradited to Las Vegas to face 15 counts of alleged child sex crimes.
Circuit Court Judge Dexter Del Rosario Thursday approved the extradition order for Rodney Hosino, a bus operator for Oahu Transit Services for the past 15 years. Hosino will be sent to Las Vegas within the next 30 days.
Police and U.S. marshals arrested Hosino at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Oahu Transit Service’s Middle Street facility before he started driving his Waikiki bus route.
An arrest warrant was issued March 30 for Hosino, a Waikiki resident, in Las Vegas on seven counts of sexual assault against a child and five counts of lewdness with a child under 14 years old.
Hosino is being held without bail at Oahu Community Correctional Center.
