Enjoy the slightly cheaper air fare while you can
Remember trickle-down economics? It looks like the savings from lowered fuel prices have finally trickled down to airline customers, including the Hawaii-bound travelers. The average round-trip domestic ticket to a lot of destinations is down just under a percentage point. Hawaii fares are part of that improvement.
It’s not much — it doesn’t make up for the bad tourism news, with more visitors spending less — but let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth. We should all just enjoy the fact that Hawaii fares are even the tiniest bit cheaper than New York, Denver and San Francisco visitors can expect to pay.
