BYU agrees to play in Hawaii Bowl in ’15 or ’19
PROVO, Utah » BYU has agreed to play in either the Hawaii Bowl or the Royal Purple Las Vegas Bowl at the end of the 2015 season.
The school announced Thursday that the Cougars will play in one bowl at the end of the upcoming season and the other at the conclusion of 2019.
Both berths are dependent on BYU being bowl eligible and not being a participant in the College Football Playoff. The date, time and opponent in both bowls have not yet been determined.
A combination of ESPN and school and conference tie-ins will determine which bowl BYU will play in and in which year.
BYU played in five consecutive Las Vegas bowls between 2005 and 2009 and the team has gone to 10 straight bowls under coach Bronco Mendenhall.
