Utah Jazz revealed as Lakers’ Honolulu preseason opponent
The Utah Jazz were revealed Friday to be the opponent of the Los Angeles Lakers in two NBA preseason games in the fall.
The Lakers announced their full preseason schedule on their website. They open the eight-game preseason slate with meetings against the Jazz on Oct. 4 and 6 at the University of Hawaii’s Stan Sheriff Center.
The Lakers previously announced the Hawaii dates with the opponent undeclared.
They will be the first NBA preseason games in Hawaii since the Lakers faced the Golden State Warriors in 2007.
Utah went 38-44 in the 2014-15 regular season, 11th in the Western Conference, while Los Angeles lost star Kobe Bryant to season-ending shoulder surgery and struggled to a 21-61 record, second from the bottom in the West.
It is unclear whether Bryant will return in time for the 2015-16 preseason.
