10 arrested at Las Vegas marijuana convention
LAS VEGAS » The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department arrested 10 people at Hempcon, a three-day medical marijuana education convention.
Lt. Laz Chavez tells KVVU-TV that vendors at five booths were caught selling marijuana to undercover officers. Detectives also caught vendors selling hallucinogenic mushrooms at the convention.
Hempcon organizers said in a statement Monday that they regret that police were involved during the event.
Chavez says the city of Las Vegas may cite the promoter, who was briefed by police and Las Vegas’ business licensing department on laws governing the event.
Hempcon was held at Cashman Center Friday through Sunday.
