Boy, 17, charged with breaking 2 police officers’ noses
A 17-year-old boy has been charged with breaking the noses of two police officers in separate incidents earlier this month, police said.
The incidents occurred on May 13 and 14.
Police said officers responded to an argument at a Kaneohe home about 10:30 a.m. May 13 and met a man bleeding from his face. The man said his 17-year-old foster son assaulted him and struck him with a lamp.
As officers were handcuffing the boy for investigation of assault, the boy headbutted one of the officers and broke the officer’s nose, police said.
The next day at about 7 p.m., police were processing the boy at the Kapolei Juvenile Detention Facility when he lunged at an officer and punched the officer in the face, breaking the officer’s nose, police said.
The boy was charged with two counts of assault on a law enforcement officer.
