The Honolulu Museum of Art is offering free art programs at Spalding House in June as part of "Contempo #Artshop."
Starting June 18, the event includes an invitation-only party and nine days of free programs designed to allow the public to mix and mingle with artists, curators and collectors.
Seminars, artist talks and tours will be featured at Spalding House at 2411 Makiki Heights Drive. The event also includes drawing, painting and glass blowing demonstrations as well as art for sale.
A "Talk Shop" session on an art topic will be featured each day at 11 a.m., starting with "Collecting 101" by James Jensen, museum curator of contemporary art June 19. On June 20, there will be a pop-up gallery featuring works by Luke Chueh, Mike Lee and Rob Sato. An art supply swap meet is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 21.
