A 13-year-old girl missing since Tuesday afternoon who requires medication was found in a park near Campbell High School on Wednesday afternoon.

Mandy Crabbe-Jones was located in the park by a friend and a person assisting in the search who used Facebook to find her, according to Crabbe-Jones’ grandmother Janet Crabbe.

“Oh my God, I’m full of joy,” Janet Crabbe said Wednesday.

Mandy Crabbe-Jones called her family to say she was on her way home at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, as she did each day when school was finished. But she didn’t return home as she normally does in 15 to 20 minutes, Crabbe said.

Crabbe said she had been worried because her granddaughter takes medication to treat an attention deficit disorder and sometimes has difficulty focusing.

Police issued a missing person announcement and friends of the Crabbe-Jones family began spreading the word on social media including Facebook.

More than 2,400 people hit the “share” button on their Facebook to spread the word about the missing teenager.
