Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump waves to the crowd as he arrives to speak at a rally before a crowd of 3,500 on Saturday in Phoenix.

RALEIGH, N.C. » Donald Trump says a lot of people will be very happy with his upcoming decision on whether to run for president — he’s just not ready to say what that decision will be.

The real estate mogul and reality TV star does sound dismissive about his potential rivals, describing them in remarks to The News & Observer of Raleigh, North Carolina, as "clowns."

Trump spoke Saturday to the state Republican convention in Raleigh. He has set June 16 as the date for announcing in New York City his plans for seeking the GOP nomination for president.

Trump flirted with a presidential bid in 2012. He formed a presidential exploratory committee earlier this year, a move that allows him to raise money and hire staff as he considers the race.
