Girl in critical condition after pool incident

A 7-year-old girl found unresponsive in an East Hono­lulu swimming pool Friday was reported in critical condition.

Emergency Medical Services personnel said the incident was reported at about 4:10 p.m. on Kame­hame Drive in East Hono­lulu. The child was transported to a hospital.

No further information was available.

Driver tries to hit man with car in Kailua

Police opened an attempted murder case after a man allegedly attempted to hit another man with his car in Kai­lua on Thursday afternoon.

Police said a 37-year-old man narrowly avoided being struck by a vehicle driven by the other man. The victim was not injured.

Police did not make any arrests.
