Body pulled from water ID’d as former isle man

LAS VEGAS >> Authorities identified a swimmer whose body was recovered from a Colorado River reservoir as an 18-year-old who grew up in Hawaii and played football for Radford High School before moving to Las Vegas.

The Clark County coroner reported Friday that Jameson Kawika Pasigan died Thursday afternoon near Nelson’s Landing, a popular Lake Mohave cliff-jumping site.

The coroner says a ruling on the cause and manner of Pasigan’s death will take several weeks, pending toxicology test results.

Police divers recovered Pasigan’s body after friends reported him missing beneath choppy waves a little before 4 p.m.

Lake Mead National Recreation Area officials say Pasigan was swimming across Morning Star Cove with a friend when winds kicked up to about 20 mph and waves reached 1 foot high.
Officials say Pasigan wasn’t wearing a life jacket.
