Woman dies after car overturns near Kahe Power Plant
A 41-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene after losing control of her car early Sunday morning near the Kahe Power Plant, Honolulu police said.
Around 12:38 a.m., the woman and her 7-year-old female passenger was traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway about a half mile west of Aliinui Drive when the driver lost control of her car and struck the concrete median, causing her car to overturn, police said.
The girl was transported to the hospital in good condition.
Police said speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors at this time.
This is Oahu’s 25th traffic fatality this year compared to 27 at the same time last year.
