Police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed three people in a Keeaumoku Street apartment early Monday morning and fled after shooting two men.
Paramedics took a 41-year-old man and a 37-year-old man to the hospital in serious condition with gunshot wounds to their legs at about 1 a.m. from Keeaumoku and Kinau streets, according to an Emergency Medical Services report. The 41-year-old man was shot in his left leg, and the 37-year-old man was shot in his right leg, EMS said.
The two men and a 23-year-old woman also were robbed at gunpoint at about 12:15 a.m., police said.
Homeless man arrested in threatening case
A 54-year-old homeless man was in police custody for allegedly attacking a 49-year-old man Sunday afternoon at Pokai Bay Park. Police said the two men argued and that the suspect allegedly threatened the younger man and fled. Officers arrested the older man a few blocks from the beach on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.
Fire damages Waimea home, burns woman
A 38-year-old woman sustained a second-degree burn to her leg in a fire that caused about $100,000 in damage to a two-story house in Waimea on Monday morning, Hawaii island firefighters said. Four fire companies responded to a report of a structure fire at about 8:20 a.m. Firefighters said the fire was confined to the laundry and living room areas.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
