TCU 's Garrett Crain, center, celebrates with teammates following the 16th inning of a super regional of the NCAA college baseball tournament against Texas A&M in Fort Worth, Texas.

FORT WORTH, Texas >> TCU is back in the College World Series after 16 innings, 547 pitches and a gutsy game-ending play.

The Horned Frogs needed a marathon finish to beat Texas A&M 5-4 early Tuesday. That came a week after they overcame a seven-run deficit after two outs in the eighth against North Carolina State just to advance to the super regional.

Senior second baseman Garrett Crain scored the winning run from second base, right at 1 a.m., when a ball trickled just beyond the edge of the infield.

TCU coach Jim Schlossnagle says it has to be one of the greatest college baseball games ever, considering what was on the line.

The Frogs (49-13), going to Omaha for the third time in six seasons, play LSU on Sunday.

Texas A&M finished 50-14.
