A 33-year-old Kaneohe man was charged Monday with assaulting a man he found with his ex-girlfriend at her home.

Edward Nobriga was initially arrested on suspicion of second-degree attempted murder Sunday.

However, following an investigation, the charge was reduced to two counts of second-degree assault and first-degree terroristic threatening. His bail was set at $20,000.

Police said Nobriga entered his ex-girlfriend’s house on Holoilo Street at 12:50 a.m. in Kaneohe and saw her with a 42-year-old man, police said. The suspect allegedly threatened to kill the man and struck him with a dangerous instrument.
