Entry fees for a 5-kilometer night run/walk will benefit Iroquois Point Elementary School, which hopes to build a new playground.
The Kapilina NiteRun starts at 7 p.m. July 18 in the Kapilina Beach Homes community, which was formerly known as Iroquois Point. The run/walk starts at the community’s main beach and weaves through wide streets, walking paths and green open spaces.
Entrants can wear costumes and prizes will be awarded.
NiteRun is open to ages 10 and up, and parents with small children can enter the stroller division. All registered participants will receive a complimentary headlamp but must complete their outfit with additional lights, glow sticks, neon paint and humor.
A family fair with live music will be held 5-9 p.m.
Registration is $39.50 ($49.50 the day of the event) and $25.50 for children 10-17. A $10 discount is available for students, military and Hawaii Government Employees Association members.
