Boy, 13, arrested for allegedly punching police officer

Police arrested a 13-year-old boy for allegedly punching a police sergeant Wednesday.

The sergeant was responding to an auto break-in in the Punchbowl area, and while searching for the suspects, a boy was hiding nearby.

The teen did not comply with sergeant’s commands and he fled on foot.

Police caught the boy after a short foot chase, while arresting the teen, he punched he sergeant, causing pain.

Police arrested the teen on suspicion of first-degree assault of a law enforcement office, first-degree criminal trespassing, failure to obey police officer and resisting arrest.
