Honolulu police arrested a 38-year-old Waianae man in connection with a stabbing in Aiea early Monday morning.

Homicide detectives are investigating the stabbing, which is classified as an attempted murder case.

Police said the two men know each other, but did not say what the motive was for the stabbing.

Emergency Medical Services reports that paramedics treated a man, estimated to be in his 30s or 40s, for a stab wound to the abdomen at about 3:05 a.m.

An ambulance took him to the hospital in serious condition from the bike path near the Harbor Center at 98-019 Kamehameha Highway.
