Rodriques, 30, is charged with being an accomplice to murder, two weapons violations and arson, and is being held at OCCC unable to post bail of $500,000.
Samson, 26, is charged with arson. Her bail is $25,000. She also is being held at OCCC.
The suspects were indicted by an Oahu grand jury Aug. 11 for their involvement in the death of William Aki Jr., 65, whose body was found just after midnight on June 24 at his Kaniahe Street home. Police went to the home after Aki’s car was found burning in Makua.
Aki lived in Whitmore Village where he was found dead, laying in a pool of blood.
According to police affidavits, Rasa, who confessed to her involvement, was Aki’s girlfriend until the victim kicked her out of the Wahiawa home a week before he was killed because she was having an affair.
The police affidavit also showed that Rasa’s boyfriend – Branco-Taguchi – shot Aki with a firearm and later set Aki’s vehicle on fire.
Police found Aki’s body in his Whitmore Village home June 23 after finding his burned-out car near Makua Cave earlier in the day.
