Couple seriously injured in Waimea moped crash
A 38-year-old moped operator and his 24-year-old female passenger were seriously injured Wednesday in a single-vehicle accident in Waimea.
Emergency Medical Services said the moped struck a guardrail at about 5:30 p.m. at 61-031 Kamehameha Highway.
EMS transported the man and woman in serious condition by ambulance to a hospital.
