Police arrested a 46-year-old man Tuesday night, suspected of fatally stabbing his wife, a housekeeper at Tripler Army Medical Center.
On Tuesday afternoon police issued a bulletin asking the public for help in finding Pablo Fiesta Jr., who was wanted for murder.
Fiesta was arrested Tuesday evening near Salt Lake Boulevard and Arizona Road.
A family member identified Fiesta’s wife as Cecilia Fiesta, a housekeeper at Tripler for about five years.
Police said officers responded to a report of a stabbing on Puolo Drive at about 8:15 p.m. Monday and found a 43-year-old woman unresponsive on the floor with multiple injuries. She was taken to a hospital where she died.
Officers scoured the neighborhood late Monday, knocking on doors and asking some residents questions.
Police said the couple’s 10-year-old daughter witnessed the stabbing.
The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office said the woman died of multiple stab wounds to her torso but did not identify her, pending notification of family.
A man who lives near the Fiesta residence identified Cecilia Fiesta and said he was her brother-in-law. The man would not give his name and declined to talk about the investigation, but said Fiesta was a good woman.
“She’s a good mom,” he said, adding that she had two daughters, ages 17 and 10. “Always smiles, always says hello.”
Another neighbor said the couple argued frequently. She said the couple was arguing just before the stabbing and that Fiesta had called out for help.
