The Honolulu Medical Examiner’s office identified on Saturday a man who died on a fishing vessel while at sea as Kenneth Moll, 56, of Jacksonville, Fla.
The cause of his death was pending.
Police said Moll was on a fishing vessel when he died about 5:20 a.m. Aug. 19. The vessel arrived at Honolulu Harbor on Aug. 23 and Moll’s death pronouncement was made after his body was brought to shore, authorities said.
Police have opened an unattended death investigation.
Baseball bat used in Waianae assault
A 55-year-old man was left in serious condition Friday evening after he was apparently assaulted with a baseball bat in Waianae, according to an Emergency Medical Services report.
The incident was reported shortly after 9 p.m. at Hakimo Road near Kaukai Road. EMS personnel transported the man to a local trauma center.
No further details were available.
Motorcycle driver injured in collision
A 31-year-old man was injured Saturday evening when the motorcycle he was operating rear-ended a sport utility vehicle in Waikele.
According to an Emergency Medical Services report, the incident occurred on the H-1 freeway westbound offramp to Waikele just before 8 p.m.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, was transported in serious condition to a local trauma center.
