Las Vegas police officer shot in hand while at traffic light
LAS VEGAS » A Las Vegas police officer is being treated for a gunshot wound in his hand after being shot while stopped at a traffic light.
Metro Police Sgt. John Sheahan tells the Las Vegas Sun reports that two officers were on their way to respond to a call about a disturbance at a store Sunday afternoon when a man approached on foot and fired a weapon several times at their car, hitting one of the officers. The uninjured policeman pursued the suspect and caught him.
The injured officer was taken to UMC Trauma with non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspect was arrested and the weapon was recovered from the scene.
