Police said shortly before 9 a.m. the SUV was used in an Amaulu Road burglary in Wainaku.

The SUV was found abandoned a half hour later in downtown Hilo in the area of Kilauea Avenue and Mamo Street.

Police ask anyone who may have seen the SUV to call the police non-emergency line at 935-3311 or contact Officer Donovan Kohara at or at 961-2272. Anonymous calls may be made to CrimeStoppers at 961-8300.
