BIRMINGHAM, Ala. » Tim Tebow is returning to the broadcast booth a week after being released by the Philadelphia Eagles.

The former Florida quarterback will be back on the air with the SEC Network as a college football analyst. He’ll resume his role on the network’s two-hour pregame show starting with Saturday’s telecast before the Georgia-Vanderbilt game in Nashville.

The Eagles released Tebow on Saturday. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner had been competing for the No. 3 quarterback job, trying to make an NFL comeback after missing two seasons.

Tebow started 16 games during two seasons with the Denver Broncos but last played in a regular-season game with the Jets in 2012. He was cut by New England in training camp in 2013.

Tebow led Florida to the national championship his junior season.
