Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to Kailua-Kona, Captain Cook, Puuanahulu, Waikoloa Beach Resort, Kalaoa, Honalo, Kona Village Resort and Saddle Road Junction.
The weather service canceled an earlier flash flood warning for the west side of the island at 4:45 p.m. Thursday after heavy showers dissipated. Rainfall rates of 1 to 3 inches per hour were observed in some areas, weather officials said.
