Hawaii associate head volleyball coach Jeff Hall sat out Friday’s win over CSU Bakersfield following his arrest Monday night on a suspected DUI.
On Thursday, UH athletic director David Matlin put Hall on administrative leave for two matches. Hall will also miss Sunday’s match against the Roadrunners.
Matlin did not elaborate on the circumstances when making the announcement Thursday, saying it was a personnel issue. On Friday, Matlin told the Star-Advertiser, "I followed the (Collective Bargaining Agreement) and then made the decision."
Rainbow Wahine head coach Dave Shoji has declined comment. Hall is expected to return to work Monday as Hawaii prepares to open Big West Conference play later in the week.
