Teddy’s Bigger Burgers founders to open new restaurant concept
The founders of Teddy’s Bigger Burgers are opening a new Build Your Own barbecue restaurant in February at the Hawaii Kai Towne Center.
BYO Bowls, an acronym for Build Your Own, is the latest concept by entrepreneurs Ted Tsakiris and Rich Stula, who opened the first Teddy’s Bigger Burgers in 1998.
Customers will be able to pick their starch, vegetables and protein, which will be stir fried on an iron griddle traditionally used for Mongolian barbecue. The restaurant will have a dozen different speciality sauces. Customers can also create fresh poke and salad bowls.
The new location will be next to Koa Pancake House and City Mill at the Costco-anchored center.
“We are excited to be expanding in Hawaii Kai and offering a healthier food option,” Tsakiris said in a press release.
