The founders of Teddy’s Bigger Burgers are opening a new build-your-own barbecue restaurant in February at the Hawaii Kai Towne Center.
BYO Bowls is the latest concept by entrepreneurs Ted Tsakiris and Rich Stula, who opened the first Teddy’s Bigger Burgers in 1998.
Customers will be able to pick their starch, vegetables and protein, which will be stir-fried on an iron griddle traditionally used for Mongolian barbecue. The restaurant will have a dozen specialty sauces. Customers also can create fresh poke and salad bowls.
The new location will be next to Koa Pancake House and City Mill at the Costco-anchored center.
