Save some space in high school’s imu
The Kailua High School Athletic Program is taking reservations for its Thanksgiving imu. Food goes into the underground oven Nov. 25, emerging the next morning, Thanksgiving, steamed full of luau flavor.
Cost is $25 per large aluminum tray. Food — such as whole turkeys, roasts or pork butt (meat chunks should have three deep cuts in them), sweet potatoes, taro or luau leaves — must be thawed, seasoned and wrapped well in foil. Place in pan and wrap again in foil. Write your name on the final foil wrap with a permanent marker. Weight limit per tray is 25 pounds.
Reservations are due by Nov. 13; limited to 400 orders. Make checks to Kailua High School and send to the school, 451 Ulumanu Drive, Kailua, HI 96734. Write “Attention IMU” in the lower left corner of the envelope. Include your name, telephone number and a self-addressed, stamped envelope for a confirmation ticket. To be included in an email list for future imu, provide email address as well.
