Another guard commits to UH basketball

The Hawaii men’s basketball team got its second commitment for the 2016-17 season today in Long Beach Poly (Calif.) guard Drew Buggs.

Buggs, 6 feet 3 and 185 pounds, announced his decision on Twitter. He can sign a binding National Letter of Intent on Nov. 11. Australian point guard Matthew Owies announced his commitment last week.

As a junior at Long Beach Poly, Buggs averaged 8.8 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.4 steals while shooting 54 percent from the field in 24 games.

He also played for the Earl Watson Elite AAU team since the eighth grade.
